Yesterday (July 30, 2019) Microsoft announced the retirement date of Skype for Business Online. Skype for Business Online will be retired on July 31, 2021, at which point access to the service will discontinue. Until this date customers of Skype for Business Online can expect no change in the service up to its retirement date. With the focus of helping customers transition from Skype for Business Online to Teams, as of September 1, 2019, no new tenants will be on-boarded to Skype for Business Online. Continue reading

Skype for Business Online Audio Conferencing - Dial out behavior change

Microsoft is making some changes to Skype for Business Online Audio Conferencing Dial Out. To best meet our customer’s business needs, Microsoft is adjusting when attendees can add other participants to a Skype for Business meeting via dial out. / How does this affect us? Till now, meeting guests are able to add Audio Conferencing attendees at any time. Going forward, the meeting service will require at least one authenticated user from the organizer’s company to be present in the meeting to allow adding another participant via dial-out. Last night Microsoft announced and published the Agent Opt In/Out feature to Skype for Business Online. This update allows Admins to grant Call Queue Agents an ability to Opt In and Out from taking calls from a particular Queue at will. For all newly created Call Queues, Agent Opt In/Out option will be enabled by default.
