What is Shared Line Appearance

Shared Line Appearance handles multiple calls on a specific number called a shared number. Shared Line Appearance can configure any enterprise voice enabled user as a shared number with multiple lines to respond to multiple calls. The calls are not actually received on the shared number, instead they are forwarded to users that act as delegates for the shared number.

Any one of the delegates can pick up the call while the rest of the delegates get a notification on their phone about who picked up the call and which line has become busy as a result.

Call Park

Call Park provides you the ability to park an active call and then allow yourself or someone else to pick up the call using a (specific) code. You communicate the code out-of-band.

Call Park Feature

Parking a call: you can park an active call by clicking on the “Park” button in the call control.

If no one retrieves the call within 5 minutes, it will ring you back. If you don’t pick-up the call, it will follow your configured unanswered roles (i.e. voicemail if configured).

It’s now possible to change your presence status from either the system tray menu or buttons below the Aero thumbnail and changing the presence from the menu (via profile picture) also still exists.

2018-09-24 1 min read Microsoft Teams Erwin Bierens

With the first day of Ignite we already have some new feature announcements for Microsoft Teams

/

  • Background blur: In Teams users can blur the background so focus on what matters most.
  • Meeting recording: Meetings are no longer just a point in time experience. With meeting recording in Teams, you or other invitees who missed the meeting can playback recorded audio, video and content at any time. Pull up a transcript, powered by Microsoft Stream, and search for keywords so you can optimize your time while getting caught up.
  • Cloud video interop – Bring your existing room technology investments into Teams. Through partner offerings from Polycom, BlueJeans and Pexip, a full portfolio of legacy devices can now be full-fledged audio/video participants in Teams meetings with content sharing. Polycom’s CVI offering is available now, with Pexip and BlueJeans generally available by end of October.
