Error while moving user from SfB 2015 to SfB 2019 pool

Problem

When you attempt to move a user from a Skype for Business Server 2015 to 2019 pool but notice that it fails with the following error:

Solve issue

This has been a common issue in environments where a user’s user(security) object has Inheritance disabled on their Active Directory Account.

Skype for Business Edge Server reset connection

I ran in to a problem with a new Skype for Business server 2015 Edge installation. I was not able to connect to the sip.domain.com from a webbrowser. The browser finds the server but the server closes the connection (RESET). Therefore clients cannot log in at all.

So i fired up wireshark on the Edge server. I see my IP connecting to the Edge external interface, but it will give the message: “Reset: Set”

The end of Skype for Business Online

Yesterday (July 30, 2019) Microsoft announced the retirement date of Skype for Business Online. Skype for Business Online will be retired on July 31, 2021, at which point access to the service will discontinue.

Until this date customers of Skype for Business Online can expect no change in the service up to its retirement date.

With the focus of helping customers transition from Skype for Business Online to Teams, as of September 1, 2019, no new tenants will be on-boarded to Skype for Business Online. Customers actively using Skype for Business Online will still be able to add new users to their tenant.

How to install and upgrade Office Online Server to the latest version

Office Online Server (OOS) is the next generation of Office Web Apps Server (OWA), which allows organizations to deliver browser-based versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote, among other capabilities.

Most people who need to run Office Online Server are having Skype for Business Server 2015/2019 or SharePoint. Within Skype for Business it will be used for PowerPoint presentations inside meetings.

You can download Office Online Server from MSDN or Volume Licensing Center. The latest version listed over there is November 2017(en_office_online_server_last_updated_november_2017_x64_dvd_100181876.iso). In the meanwhile there have been made some patches available that are solving a lot of issues.
