The Microsoft Network Assessment Tool provides the ability to perform a simple test of network performance to determine how well the network would perform for a Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business Online call. The tool tests the connection to Microsoft Network Edge by streaming a set of packets to the nearest edge site and back for approximately 17 seconds for a configured number of iterations.  The tool reports:

With the holidays coming soon Microsoft has released the “Holidays feature” in Auto Attendant (released November 29, 2017) The holidays feature is avaliable for all Phone System customers. Customers in all regions who have Phone System SKU (formerly known as CloudPBX) will now be able to create Holiday schedules using the new holidays Auto Attendant UI, or by PowerShell.

• Up to 20 different holidays
• Max 10 date ranges in each holiday
• Holidays must have unique names (nesting/overlapping allowed)

Update Skype for Business 2016 Client - KB4011238

Microsoft has released an update for Microsoft Skype for Business 2016 client. The version number of this update is 16.0.4615.1000.

In addition to the release of the new client, this update fixes a list of issues.

Issues that the update fixes

This update fixes the following issues:

• KB 4051048 Invalid participant number is displayed in a warning message when you send an exceeding size meeting in Skype for Business 2016
• KB 4051049 No denied notification when waiting in the lobby to join in a meeting in Skype for Business 2016
• KB 4051050 Phone number instead of contact name is displayed for an Active Directory contact in Skype for Business 2016
• KB 4051051 Selection is moved to the bottom when using the Up Arrow key in conversation history in Skype for Business 2016
• KB 4051052 Can’t join a meeting through Lync Web App after the meeting can’t be joined from the Skype Meeting Add-in in Outlook
• KB 4051053 Anonymous meeting join fails if the meeting organizer is disabled for federation in Skype for Business 2016

Microsoft Teams - Connect to Powershell

Hi Guys,

Microsoft recently(11-2017) released the Powershell Cmdlets (still in beta), which gives you the opportunity to manage Microsoft Teams by Powershell.

Installing

To get started you wil first need to install the Microsoft Teams Powershell module. You can do this by using the following command:

    Install-Module -Name MicrosoftTeams

Loading module

Once you have installed a module on your system, you will likely want to import the module in order to use it. Importing is the process that loads the module into active memory, so that a user can access that module in their PowerShell session. You can use the following cmdlet te import the MicrosoftTeams module.

Microsoft Flow - Skype for Business Connector

I don’t know if you ever used Microsoft Flow, but i use it mostly for getting notification abouts some important rss feeds. In this example i will use a Weather forecast flow.

Microsoft released a new connector to send notifications to Skype for Business, (according to the microsoft docs site, it’s still in preview) you can choose 2 options:

• Create an online meeting
• Send an instant message

When creating the trigger meeting you can enter sip addresses separated by semi-colun.

Security Updates October 2017 Office- Web Apps and Online Server

This security update resolves a vulnerability in Microsoft Office that could allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted Office file. To learn more about these vulnerability, see Microsoft Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures CVE-2017-11826.
